Amateur Radio Emergency Services is a volunteer radio communications
service available to Federal, state, county and local governments, as
well as non-profit organizations. Amateur Radio operations all over
the nation have formed groups to provide reliable communications for
governmental agencies and/or non-profit organizations when needed.

The New Hanover County Amateur Radio Emergency Services (ARES®) is looking for members who are willing to assist in emergencies and when requested. Membership is voluntary with no costs associated and is open to any "Ham radio operator" with a valid FAA license ARES®

The New Hanover County ARES® meets the fourth Tuesday of the month starting at 7 pm. Meetings usually run for less than 2 hrs and typically involve some level of training
he New Hanover Country ARES® conduct a directed net meeting at 7pm every Monday. Meetings take place on the local repeater: frequency 145.4100 (+.6 MHZ offset and access tone of 88.5 Hz)
